In case you’d like to transfer a domain name from one registrar company to another, you’ll need a special transfer code, which may be referred to by many names – an EPP key, an Auth code, a domain name password, and so on. All these names refer to the exact same thing – a code that the domain registrant obtains from the present registrar and gives to the new one upon ordering. Without a genuine code, a domain transfer process cannot be initiated and this is one of the security measures against unauthorized transfers used with all gTLD and with most ccTLD extensions. For better security, the code includes numbers and/or special characters and is case-sensitive, so in case you’d like to transfer one of your domain names, you have to provide the new domain name registrar with the correct code.
EPP Transfer Protection in Shared Hosting
If you have a domain registered through our company and you’ve got a shared hosting account with us, obtaining its EPP transfer code is surprisingly easy. You will not need to log in and out of different interfaces, as you can administer all your domains through the same Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which is used to administer your web hosting account. You will see all active domains the moment you log in and to the right of the domain names whose extensions require an EPP transfer code in order to be transferred away, you’ll see a small EPP icon. All it takes to get that code is to click on the icon. The code is always sent to the registrant’s email, so if the one that you specified at first isn’t valid any longer, you can change it with several clicks from the same section.
